Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg was the son of the Austrian painter Karl Joseph Kuwasseg and first trained and worked with his father before coming a sailor .
He returned to France in 1883 where he began his formal artistic training and studied under Durand-Brager and Eugene Isabey.
He specialised in painting scenes of the coast and landscapes of northern France particularly Normandy and Brittany.
Kuwasseg exhibited at both the Paris salon and the salon of French artists where he achieved the bronze medal in 1892 .
